Gabriel + Liz | Wedding Film | Estes Park, Colorado
This couple was thoroughly, utterly adorable. So funny, so friendly, and a complete blast to work with.
Liz was giving me a hard time within 5 minutes of meeting her, so I liked her immediately.
She was cracking jokes, and throwing out hilarious banter from the second I walked in the door, and I knew right away that we were going to get along GREAT… a suspicion that was made concrete when I discovered she also has a comprehensive knowledge of early 80s RUN DMC lyrics. She’s rad.
Gabriel is just unspeakably kind, and a perfect partner for Liz. He’s easily one of the most thoughtful, attentive, and patient grooms I’ve ever worked with, and it was plainly obvious why Liz would give her heart tom him. He’s a good dude.
The two of them made the day an utter joy. They were A LOT of fun.
My role for this wedding was a little different than my usual one.
Typically, I’m booked by couples directly, as a one-stop shop; handling cinematography, editing, post-production and media authoring. For this wedding, however, I was hired solely as a Director of Photography, along with my good friend and associate, Kris Farruggia, who partnered with me as a fantastic second shooter.
The two of us were brought on to the project by the impossibly nice, and extremely talented Adam Bradley, of AdamFusion Films, who hired me to perform all the camera work for the wedding, while he’ll handle the editing and packaging for Gabriel and Liz’s highlight film and ceremony edit. It’s something different for me, but it’s a partnership I’m very excited about. You couldn’t ask to work with a better guy than Adam. He’s great!
Adam was kind enough to allow me to edit and color-grade my own mini-highlight film from the day, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out.
In addition to steadicam shots I was very happy with, I was also fortunate enough to capture some fairly spectacular aerial footage of the wedding venue and the surrounding area that I think turned out really, really well. Kris and I had a great time filming in such a gorgeous environment. Even a little bit of rain couldn’t dampen its beauty.
I’m extremely grateful to Liz, Gabriel and their family and friends for trusting us to capture such a special moment in their lives.
I’m also deeply thankful for Adam and Kris’ collaboration, as well the stellar work of Sara Kleiber at the Black Mountain Inn, who was an amazing event coordinator, and immeasurably helpful throughout the day. The whole staff was wonderful. I can’t thank them enough.
